Part 1: Install Driver and Update Firmware

How to install vx manager, driver and update firmware for VCX SE 6154?

 

Download vx manager here

After installing ODIS software (ODIS installation guide), run VX Manager,  select Passthru and 15-VAG-ODIS 6154 driver and press next to finish installing vx manager.

Connect VCX SE 6154 with laptop via USB cable.

Run VX Manager on the desktop.

There is no device detected. Press-Re-connect. Now it will see your 6154 device.

If there is a “+” in Firmware, run firmware update.

Go to the Diagnostic tab. Check if VW ODIS 6154 driver is installed.

If there is a purple “+” icon of the driver, you need to update driver.

Part 2: Update License.

If ODIS says the License expired.

Run VX Manager, check the License.
If the valid day is 0,  go back to Device Information and update License.

If don’t have network connection, VX Manager will say “offline, Download License failed”.

Close VX Manager.
Connect network.

Run VX Mnagaer and update license.

The license won’t expire but needs to be renewed every 60 days.

Part 3: How to Connect VXDIAG VCX SE 6154

VCX SE Connects via USB, WiFi and LAN cable.

1. Connect via USB

Connect VCX SE with laptop via USB cable, and connect another end to vehicle via OBD socket.

Go to Device Manager->Network Adapters. If you see Realtek USB FamilyController, it means the device is well connected.

If not, unplug the USB cable and firmly insert the vcx se.

 

 

2. Connect via WiFi

Connect VCX SE with the vehicle via OBD port, don’t connect USB cable.

Turn on the ignition with working key.

Hit Network icon on the bottom right of your PC.
Find WiFi name DoIP-VCI-XXXX and choose auto connection,
Pair WiFi with password: 12345678

3. Connect VCX SE with LAN cable

To connect VCX SE via LAN, you also need a USB Type-C to RJ45  LAN converter which is included in the package.
